General Enquiries

We are based in Angus and cover a wide area of North East Scotland. Our core service areas include Dundee, Arbroath, Carnoustie, Montrose, Brechin, Forfar, and Kirriemuir. We also regularly work in Perth, North Fife (St Andrews, Cupar), and up the coast to Stonehaven.

Yes. We offer a free, no-obligation site survey. We will visit your property to inspect the chimney/room, discuss your design preferences, and provide a fixed, itemised quote.

We operate primarily as a supply-and-install service where we bring brochures and samples to your home during the survey. This allows us to keep our overheads low and pass the savings on to you.

Stoves & Installation

No. If your home doesn’t have a masonry chimney, we can install a Twin Wall Flue System. This is a rigid, insulated metal pipe that acts as a chimney. It can run internally through your ceilings and roof, or externally up the side of the building.

Yes, absolutely. You just need to ensure the stove you choose is DEFRA Exempt (also known as DEFRA Approved). Most of the modern EcoDesign stoves we supply are approved for use in Smoke Control Areas, allowing you to burn wood legally and cleanly.

It depends on the age of your house and the output of the stove.

Pre-2008 homes: Stoves under 5kW usually do NOT require an air vent. Stoves over 5kW do.
Post-2008 (New Build) homes: Due to high airtightness, an air vent is almost always required regardless of stove size. We often use “Direct Air” kits to feed air straight into the stove from outside, avoiding draughts.

A standard liner installation into a prepared opening usually takes 1 day. If we are doing a “knock-out” (opening up the fireplace), installing a lintel, and plastering, it typically takes 2-3 days to allow for drying times and a high-quality finish.

Building & Media Walls

Yes. Unlike many stove fitters who leave you with a bare wall, we offer a full turnkey service. Because we are partnered with Steve Beattie Joinery, we handle the plastering, skirting boards, and mantel installation in-house.

A standard media wall is usually between 20cm and 30cm deep. This provides enough depth to recess a TV and an electric fire while hiding cables. We can adjust this depth to suit your room size.

It is possible, but it requires careful planning. Wood burners generate significant rising heat which can damage electronics. We usually recommend a non-combustible shelf or mantel to deflect heat, or recessing the TV significantly. For media walls, electric fires are generally the preferred option for safety and simplicity.
