RESTORE THE HEART OF YOUR HOME
Fireplace Renovations
We specialise in structural ‘knock-outs’, chamber restoration, and bespoke hearths. Transform a bricked-up wall into a stunning focal point.
DIRTY WORK DONE RIGHT
Don’t just fit a stove. Transform the room.
Many older properties in Tayside have their original fireplaces bricked up or hidden behind dated gas fires. Opening these spaces up can completely change the feel of a living room, but it requires structural expertise.
At Tayside Stoves, we are uniquely qualified to handle this work. Because we are the heating division of Steve Beattie Joinery, we have the skills to safely remove rubble, install concrete lintels, and plaster the finish to a high standard.
We don’t leave you with a rough hole in the wall. We create a clean, safe, and beautifully finished chamber ready for your wood burner or electric fire.

In some cases, yes. If you have a timber or stone surround you love, we can often work carefully to preserve it while updating the hearth and chamber. However, we may need to remove it temporarily during the works.
We use special heat-resistant rendering materials. You typically need to wait 3-4 days for the plaster to dry naturally before you can paint it, and slightly longer before you can light a roaring fire, to prevent cracking.
